2023 Bailey Science Bowl Team
The Bailey Science Bowl Team achieved Top Ten score in the State of Indiana for the Indiana Association of School Principals and Purdue.

STEM Night
Bailey School's STEM Night welcomed State Senator Eddie Melton. Senator Melton said, "I want to thank Principal Terry Kolopanis of Virgil I. Bailey Elementary School in Lake Station for inviting me to their STEM Night. It was awesome to see these students engage in fun activities that introduce them to science, technology, engineering and math. Great job!"
Purdue STEM project: Duct Tape Boats
Student's from Purdue University have partnered with Bailey Elementary school to bring exciting STEM activities to all grade levels. Miss Sanchez's second grade class created duct tape boats. Students tested their designs by seeing how many dominoes the boats could hold while still floating.
STEM with Purdue Students
Purdue University students have led several great STEM projects at Bailey. This is the first year for the program.
Bailey School
Virgil I. Bailey Elementary School was awarded the National Title I Distinguished School Award for the 2014-2015 school year. Congratulations Bailey Students and Staff. Please watch the video produced by the Indiana Department of Education in honor of this award.
