My name is Stephanie Yorek and I will be your child’s Kindergarten teacher. I am very excited to be working with your child and I look forward to providing an environment where they can have fun and learn all at the same time. Your child’s education and success are extremely important to me, and I am going to do my very best to assist your child in their educational needs.

I would like to share with you a little about my professional background. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in May of 2011 from Purdue University Calumet. This will be my 16th year of teaching. My teaching experience has been spent teaching 9 years of Kindergarten and 6 years of 3rd grade. 

Personally, I was born and raised in Hammond, Indiana; however, I currently live in Hobart. I am married to my husband, Sean and we have one cat named Little Kitty. I am the youngest child in my family and have one brother and one sister. When time permits, I usually enjoy just watching a movie, hiking, kayaking, listening to music, going to concerts or reading a good book.

My passion to become a teacher was driven by the experiences I had when I was in elementary school. The teachers I had were all wonderful and caring and made my experiences something I would never forget. They helped build the person I am today, and I hope to have the same impact on your child and their education.

I am fully committed to having an open line of communication between us.  I strongly believe that it is important for everyone to contribute and communicate effectively to provide our students with a successful year.
